Badulla is located on the southeast of Kandy about 2100 feet
above the sea level. The town is surrounded by tea plantations
and enclosed by Badulla Oya River. Before becoming a part
of British Empire the town was the base of Sinhalese princes.
The British used the place as an administrative hub.
Badulla is the capital of the mountainous Uva Povince and
features tropical vegetation. Mountains such as the predominating
Namunukula encircle Badulla. One of the nearby attractions
of Badulla is the Dunhinda falls, which lies three and a half
km north of Badulla. Dunhinda is the most beautiful and breathtaking
cascades of Sri Lanka.
Dunhinda is approximately 230 km from Colombo and the town
is directly linked to the capital through trains, buses or
private vehicles. Other than the Dunhinda falls, Badulla is
also famous for Bogoda Bridge.
The beautiful tourist destination, Badulla has sprawling
tropical trees and palms. The area near Namunukula Mountain
offers great place for trekking. Tourists can take a tour
